An exciting, new direction for The Real Macaron Company….

Dear Customers,

I am writing to you today to let you know about the significant and exciting changes that are occurring at The Real Macaron Company.

When I first started out on this macaron adventure, my original plan was to teach Master Classes and create bespoke macarons for weddings, corporate events and other celebrations.  Since opening the shop in Newbury, in November 2014, the business has taken off at a great pace and I am absolutely delighted with the results of the last two years.  As a consequence of this success, I now wish to fully focus the business around its key aspects – the Macaron Master Classes, Weddings and Events and smaller, bespoke orders.

From the 1st August 2016 I will be closing the coffee shop, in order to dedicate more time and creative energy to the core business.

The Real Macaron Company is NOT closing down! I am simply moving the business in a new direction!  41a Newtown Road, Newbury will still be the hub of The Real Macaron Company.  I will continue to host Master Classes and ‘Bake with Me’ Classes at the premises.  With more time to devote to this side of the business, I have plans for new and exciting events and activities.

I will also continue to regularly bake in the shop and will be able to take on even more orders – large or small – whether for your weekend treats, or for special celebrations or parties!

Orders can be placed as normal by phone, email or via the website and you will be able to collect from the shop, by arrangement or even benefit from personal delivery. Details will follow.

Macarons at 41a Newtown Road, Newbury

I can hardly believe it, but The Real Macaron Company has been in Newbury for four exciting and fun-packed months!  The time has flown by and every day has brought us new ideas, challenges and of course, fantastic customers.

Macarons for everyone and for every occasion

The shop is a hive of activity, open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays selling our ever-expanding range of delicious French-style macarons, as well as creamy cupcakes and wonderfully gooey brownies, to take home as treats or gifts. We also serve great coffee, a variety of teas’ and steaming hot chocolate, which has been a particular favourite on cold, wet, winter days.  Demand for our macaron master classes  continues to grow and the shop is transformed into a kitchen workshop at least twice a week, accommodating enthusiastic groups of would-be macaronistas!  The keenest among them return frequently for a macaron chat and to pick up macaron-making accessories such as, silicone mats and gel colours.

The Real Macaron Company loves to welcome brides-and-bridegrooms-to-be to sample our macarons and chat about wedding favours, macaron towers and cakes over a relaxed cup of coffee, and with the wedding season fast approaching we are delighted to be involved in a number of local weddings. Towers and dessert selections are also popular for special birthdays, hen parties, Bar Mitzvahs and christenings, and we encourage our customers to come and visit, and taste, before deciding on the perfect macarons for their big event.

We are still busy even when closed, as we bake on the premises, preparing stock for the shop, as well as macarons to order, for both private and corporate customers … and of course the phone and the email are always open for your enquiries and orders.

Macaron Flavour of the Month – September

White macarons seem to be popular with customers at the moment – whether for weddings or for corporate displays. Adding coconut to the almond mixture not only produces a whiter macaron shell but also creates the basis for delicious coconut combinations. These certainly rank high on my list of macaron favourites and I have to admit to being particularly excited about this month’s flavour –  coconut and mint chocolate. A delightful, after-dinner treat, savoured with a smooth, rich espresso, these elegant morsels are the perfect finale to a September evening.

Macaron Towers

Macaron towers are a wonderful addition to the dessert table and a stylish alternative to the celebration cake, with colours and flavours chosen to compliment the theme and scheme of your event or party.  For additional impact, macaron towers can be dressed with flowers or ribbons, or be presented on a traditionally iced cake , to allow for the cake cutting “photo opportunity”. Macaron towers hold from 32 to 235 macarons, depending on the number of tiers, making them suitable for both small and large events. The Real Macaron Company offers up to six flavours and colours per tower ensuring that all taste buds are catered for. Towers can be hired from The Real Macaron Company and filled  with your delicious choice of macarons in-situ at your event venue.
